This afternoon, we visited the Angkor National Museum, which was surprisingly informative and impressive. It is located not far from the city centre, about 10 mins drive on a tuk tuk. As we entered, we had to hand in our bags as the staff gave us a pouch to carry our valuables with us. Although the entry fee was slightly more expensive ($12), it was definitely worth it. Firstly, we entered the briefing room where a clip about the museum was played. It gave us a good overview of what to expect during our visit. We learnt about the religion (Buddhism and Hinduism) as well as the Great Kings, Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom. The displays were easy to understand and the exhibitions provided us with a better insight into the history of Cambodia. How I wished to have visited this museum before going to the temples! Overall, I thoroughlt enjoyed my experience there!
After working under the sun this morning, both of us were very tired by the evening, so we just enjoyed a good grilled meal and rested afterwards.
