We will be volunteering in Siem Reap. It is famous for it's temple ruins including Bayon, Ta prohm and Angkor Wat . Angkor Wat is often put in class with Machu Picchu as one of the world heritage (http://whc.unesco.org/en/list/668) . It stretches over 400 square kilometres, consists of scores of temples and water pools.
Angkor Wat was the centre of the Khmer kingdom in the past, it continues to be one of the most sacred places to the Hindus.
