We were welcomed to the community centre this morning by the blazing sun. This week, we will be working at VBC's Community Centre instead, so we will be completing different tasks every day as well! In the beginning, Sinn gave us a sheet of paper, which had a photo of a sawhorse. Without any dimensions or instructions, both of us didn't really have much of an idea. Luckily, Brendon, one of the long-term volunteers puzzled the parts out and he became in-charge of making them.
Thus, we started to put up the wire fence instead. It was meant to be put above the layer of bricks and it would stretch around the perimeter of the land for extra security. Firstly, we rolled out the bundle of wire fencing and laid it by the posts. After lifting the sections up, we secured the fence with the wires from the posts using the pliers. Although we had to work under the heat and the piercing sunlight, it was great fun after having completed the longer side of the rectangle. We were told that our task tomorrow would be to make the trellises for the classrooms, so I'm certainly looking forward to it!
